[Game] eden* Trial Version Released!
That’s right, everyone!
Minori just released a trial version of their new project eden*. The demo is decent 513MB large and can be obtained at the eden* official website (if you have a Japanese IP that is). ;-)
I have no idea yet how long that trial version is but keep the following in mind: The ef trial version was about 400 MB smaller and had a playtime of 30 minutes.
Aside from that I guess I heard some familiar voices. So if I’m right Elica and Yuuko have the same voice actress.
Elica = Yuuko 2.0?
The soundtrack is great as usual. Well, it’s composed by TENMON so it has to be good, right? And Of course minori also kept the eye and mouth animations.
The whole game interface looks actually the same as in ef.

Unfortunately, the size of the demo is misleading. The demo is about 1500 text blocks in length, maybe up to 1800, tops. What I don’t get is how bg.paz is 349MB and how scr.paz is 370KB. ef Chapter 1’s bg.paz was 702MB and its scr.paz was 238KB. ef Chapter 1 had 8120 text blocks.
Chances are that there is something hidden in the eden* paz files, because it’s impractical to believe that going from 800×600 to 1024×600 would have such a substantial impact on file size.
NNL’s tools currently cannot decrypt the eden* demo, but hopefully either we or someone else will find an answer to this puzzle soon. My guess? minori accidentally included the script of the entire game in the demo.
Or they could have simply padded bg.paz, like they did in ef - the first tale. minori added dummy data to that game in order to make it seem larger than it actually was. ef - the latter tale has no such dummy data.

Was anderes als eine spitzen VN konnte man von minori doch auch nicht erwarten. ^^ Und die Musik von Temnon ist sowieso Klasse.
